In the age of technological reforms, enterprises are experimenting with wireless power transfer systems. Wireless power transmission is a system in which the transmitter, which is driven by electric power from a power source, generates a time-varying electromagnetic field, which transmits electric power across space to a receiver’s device. The receiver’s device then extracts power from the electromagnetic field and supplies it to an electrical load. The wireless power transfer technology can increase the mobility of electronic devices as it will eliminate the use of wires and batteries.
uBeam, a Los Angeles based company will unveil the newest advancement in wireless power transfer technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas. The CES is taking from January 8th to 11th. CES is one of the largest technology events which features thousands of exhibitors. uBeam is going to showcase a contact-free power-at-a-distance ultrasonic wireless power system at the event. The leadership and engineering teams will be at the CES event to discuss partnership and potential applications of the product.
uBeam has made its name in the wireless power industry as an innovative leader as it utilizes ultrasound to create a contact-free charging technology. uBeam provides usable power to charge electronic devices and IoT sensors. The ultrasonic wireless charging technology will be able to alleviate the current system level tradeoffs between product performance and battery longevity. Unlike other wireless power transfer systems, uBeam’s technology is not electromagnetic based as it uses ultrasound for power transmission. According to uBeam, the technology is safe for humans as the frequency used for ultrasound is too high for humans or any other living organisms.
