The headphones manufacturing sector has grown because of the high penetration of Bluetooth wireless headphones by increasing investment in premium products and rapid expansion of the market. The industry has increased by 2.4 percent over the past five years, to reach revenues of $223 million in 2019. Simultaneously, there has been an increase of 9.6 percent in the number of companies and 5.9 percent in the number of employees. Audio-Technica is a global leader in this industry focusing on audio design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution. The company was formed as a manufacturer of phonograph cartridges in 1962 in Tokyo, Japan, by Hideo Matsushita. The AT-1 and the AT-3 MM stereo phono cartridges were his first products.
Audio-Technica is keen to update their products with new technologies and innovations with the main purpose of attracting the customers. The company has launched three new WLAN headsets with noise-canceling and battery life to compete with industry leaders like Sony and Bose as a New Year's gift for customer requirements. A trio of new products was recently released that joined their wireless headphones: ATH-ANC900BT, ATH-ANC500BT, and ATH-ANC100BT, and the customers can get them in a few months.
The star among the new releases is the over-earning ATH-ANC900BT ANC Wireless headphones with the hybrid digital noise cancelation technology of the company. Multiple microphones in the headset can collect a wider range and frequency of environmental noises from a wider all-way range, which makes sure one’s headphones isolate almost all the other sounds effectively. However, in case a user wants to hear his or her environment, the headphones feature a quick listening button which allows external sounds to pass through which they can be turned off just as easily. Audio-Technica’s complementary AT Connect smartphone application can further customize and control noise cancelation.
The Bluetooth 5 devices allow up to 35 hours of complete charge battery life for these headphones with noise cancelations activated-15 hours greater than the Bose counterpart, the QuietComfort 35 II and five more than the WH-1000XM3 from Sony. ATH-ANC500BT, a more wallet-friendly option, will be the second set of wireless headphones that Audio-Technica has unveiled by the company. The Bluetooth 4.2 noise cancelation option provides the same battery life as the QC 35 but is less than US$ 250 (RM1,025) on the price tag.
Finally, Audio-Technica releases an in-ear headphone set of “wireless” meaning the earpieces are cable connected, but the headphones support the active noise canceling without being connected to the energy source. This pair has a battery life of only 10 hours and does not support Bluetooth 4.2 at 500s.
