GridBlock's flexible energy router for EV fleets can save more than 65 percent on infrastructure costs and space requirements.
FREMONT, CA: PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company, announced today a new strategic relationship with Endeavour, a sustainable infrastructure company, to roll out Endeavour's unique GridBlock platform for utilities. GridBlock technology makes photovoltaics, energy storage, and sophisticated DC services like electric vehicle fleet charging easier to integrate while also providing new tools to improve grid resilience.
GridBlock is a software-defined energy router that can establish and operate a self-contained microgrid while dynamically managing energy flow between numerous sources and loads. GridBlock packetizes and routes electrical energy at a rate 250 times faster than the current grid frequency.The precise technology allows bidirectional power flow on several ports or channels simultaneously, giving the electrical grid the flexibility and control of Internet routers and switches. Electric installations increasingly require clever integration of EV or e-truck charging, battery storage, solar panels, and critical loads, with each location's specific design and build adding to the cost of implementation. GridBlock makes it easy to manage a wide range of end-use configurations and applications with a flexible, software-defined, modular solution.
