Affectiva is a spin-off and human perception of artificial intelligence (AI) leader in Boston-based MIT Media Lab. According to Affectiva, this new software, which is designed to improve the in-vehicle experience, comes from a deep learning architecture. The patented software of Affectiva is the first multi-modal interior sensing solution to unobtrusively recognize in real time complex cognitive conditions of vehicles. Affectiva's Emotion AI system is used in a wide variety of areas, such as gaming, robotics, automotive, health care, education, video communication, retail and experiential marketing.

In addition, the technology that has built up huge amounts of real-world data can also unlock a deep understanding of the condition of occupants in a car. Then, this data can be used to provide a highly flexible platform to meet the evolving safety standards and future needs for mobility.
